A LOOK FORWARD TO
MARIAN DAYS 2025
Lm. Philip M. Thanh Cao, CRM - Marian Days Organization
Most Reverend Bishops, Reverend Fathers, Deacons, Religious Brothers and Sisters, and All Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, It is truly meaningful and joyful to announce that the 46th Marian Days will be celebrated during the Jubilee Year of Hope for Pilgrims. The theme of this Jubilee Year encourages and compels us to journey toward the Marian Days pilgrimage in Carthage, Missouri, reminding us that we are pilgrims in hope. The Jubilee Year invites the entire Church to turn its gaze toward Christ, the one and only source of hope for humanity. And the clearest and most faithful way to do so is by fixing our gaze on Christ together with—and through—our Blessed Mother. This year’s Marian Days will be held from July 31 to August 3, 2025, under the theme: Mary, Our Hope. The Book of Revelation offers an image of “a Woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (Rev 12:1). This vision depicts Mary robed in the glory of Christ, her Son. If Christ is humanity’s only source of hope, then His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, also shares in and radiates that glory and hope—truly making her the Mother of Hope. This year’s pilgrimage is also a celebration of the Jubilee Year and, for the Vietnamese community overseas, a special commemoration of 50 years of exile (1975–2025)—half a century filled with grace, sorrow, joy, and enduring hope. The logo for this year features the Blessed Mother holding the Christ Child. The image signifies Mary embracing and offering Christ—the Hope of the world—to all humanity. Her flowing garment forms a protective wall sheltering a small boat beneath it—an experience that deeply resonates with many Vietnamese overseas who once braved the open sea before reaching freedom. In the upper right corner is a star, symbolizing Mary as the Star of the Sea who guides the way. For sailors lost in the darkness of night, the morning star serves as a beacon of hope. Likewise, in the stormy seas of today’s world, the Virgin Mary is the guiding star that leads our vessel toward the safe harbor of heaven. To mark both the Jubilee Year and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnamese diaspora, the Organizing Committee has invited all Vietnamese Bishops overseas to participate in this year’s Marian Days. Five (5) Bishops have accepted the invitation, along with Archbishop Timothy Broglio, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Bishop Edward Rice of the Diocese of Springfield–Cape Girardeau, and Bishop Carl Kemme of the Diocese of Wichita. It will be a rare and wonderful gathering of Vietnamese faithful alongside their shepherds—a true sign of joy and hope! May Mary, the Mother of Hope, lead us to Christ—the one true Source of Hope. We sincerely hope that our Province will once again have the honor of welcoming all the Most Reverend Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious, and every beloved brother and sister to this year’s pilgrimage. Affectionately in Christ and Our Mother Mary, Fr. Philip M. Đỗ Thanh Cao, CRM Marian Days 2025 Organizing Committee

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS #31 - USCCB
Lord, through Baptism, you invite me to share the gift of my life in service to others. Be with me as I choose every day to show your presence in our world. Give me the courage and generosity to respond to your love, to your call. I pray especially for those who serve you as priests, brothers, sisters and deacons. Keep them close to you. Open the minds and hearts of many other men and women to be testimony to your gospel.
AMEN.
